We’re looking for someone just like YOU to be a part of this ministry! From counseling clients to stuffing envelopes in our mailings to organizing the baby closet, there is a position for you here.

As you volunteer at Care Net, you will be involved in a very satisfying and exciting ministry. This culturally relevant ministry enables a woman to choose spiritual and emotional life in Jesus Christ for herself and physical life for her child. What a privilege it is to provide the truth about sexual health and aid in good decision making to confused and hurting women and their families.

There are many tasks to be done at Care Net and none are to be considered more glamorous or more important than others. All are essential to the smooth operation of Care Net’s ministry. We hope you will come visit one of our Centers and find which volunteer position might be best for you and your skills. If Christ has given you a passion for women in crisis and their babies, volunteer at your local pregnancy center. Just a few hours a month can have an everlasting impact.

Volunteer Spotlight: Dr. Louise Galloway

Dr. Louise Galloway began volunteering at the Care Net Pregnancy Center in Brunswick GA back in 1993. Since then she has faithfully logged nearly 4,000 volunteer hours, becoming one of Care Net Pregnancy Center of Coastal Georgia’s longest serving and most respected volunteers. Dr. Louise’s beautiful compassionate countenance radiates her love for Jesus every day.  Her connection with the clients is amazing and her non judgmental approach in the counseling room makes them feel comfortable and at ease.  Dr. Louise has many clients that make appointments to see her each week.  They discuss prenatal care and parenting issues with the help of videos and informational brochures.  Nearly every visit is closed with one of Dr. Louise’s famous warm hugs.

Dr. Louise is very humble in her service and dislikes any spotlight on her, however her story of faithful service is one that needs to be shared and will surely inspire others:

“When I retired in January 1991, I asked the Lord for direction for my life. I told Him I’d do whatever He wanted me to do but if it was alright with Him, I’d rather not go to the Crisis Pregnancy Center, which  Care Net was originally called. He did however lead me in that direction. I went thru the training, which was a real learning experience. The idea of being a counselor became more comfortable as I gained more knowledge.

The most important thing I learned during those early years was to be totally dependent upon the Holy Spirit; to give me wisdom, guidance and direction. My prayer each morning was for a spirit of discernment and for the power of the Holy Spirit to be manifested thru me – and that the Lord would increase and I would decrease.

All of our clients are different. The Lord knows each need and each heart. In our prayer time at the center we ask the Lord to prepare the heart of each person who comes in to receive ministry that will meet their needs.  I can’t begin to tell you how very blessed I am and have been over the years by being a part of Care Net. I’ve learned so much and my walk with the Lord has become even more precious. I’m grateful that God has given me the opportunity to serve Him in this way. To Him be all Glory and Honor!”

It is evident that Dr. Louise has a special gift of gentle communication.  For nearly seventeen years she has freely and openly shared with clients about the love of Jesus and how He can transform their lives.  Her effectiveness in presenting the Gospel has set an awesome example for all of us.  By allowing the Holy Spirit to work through her, many lives have come to the Lord by God’s grace.

Dr. Galloway’s service and testimony show how hundreds of lives can be changed due to one women’s heart for LIFE and love of Christ!  We pray that in sharing her story may others will be inspired into volunteer service and “make a difference”.  Volunteers are greatly needed in each of Care Net’s three centers.  Please call 267-1100 for more information on volunteer opportunities and a list of our upcoming training schedule.  Thank you Dr. Louise!
